L’as du Fallafel (34 rue des Rosiers, Paris) (Metro: St-Paul) – in a city with a heavy North African presence, tourists come here to try out what’s reputed to be the best-tasting falafel sandwich in Paris (which explains the often-long lines here). Patrons also sample the lamb shawarma and curry chicken. What’s not in abundance here is ambience – patrons leave as soon as they get their sandwiches, due to its cramped space.
