Roland Garros Stadium (2 avenue Gordon Bennett, Bois de Boulogne, Paris) (Metro: Porte d’Auteuil, Michel-Ange-Molitor) – tennis fans all over the world are familiar with this venue – the site of the annual French Open tennis tournament, held here very June. Located on the southern boundary of the Bois de Boulogne, this 21-acre complex contains 20 tennis courts, including three large-capacity stadium, a large restaurant and bar complex, and Tenniseum – a bilingual multimedia museum that covers the history of tennis.

As opposed to most other tennis stadiums, Roland Garros’ main distinction is the clay surface of its courts – which presents special challenges for at least some of the pro players that come here. Recent players who have competed here include Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, and Ana Ivanovic, among others.
